Matt Adams - "Oz-some Australian Adventure" - (from Beaverton, OR)

"Oz-some Australian Adventure" Fulfilling a dream that started 15 years ago, I took a trip during February and March 2014 to Australia. During this month long adventure, I covered the interstate main and branchline network from North-central New South Wales, Victoria and the eastern half of South Australia. EMD (Clyde), ALCO (Goodwin) and GE (Goninan) locomotives built between 1951 and 2012 were all seen side by side, hauling freight across the land best known for Kangaroos, Koala Bears and AC/DC.

Dave is back to another Autumn Leaf and I am sure his show will not disappoint. Featured Presenter - Eric Williams - From Sun-down to Sun-up - (from Millburn, NJ)

My passion for dusk and dawn photography was originally established by my family and work commitments, which generally limit my rail-fanning time to very early and late hours. With railroading being a 24/7 operation there are plenty of opportunities to shoot, and soon discovered that this is really the optimum time to be trackside as the light is the most interesting and dramatic. So, follow the light with me, from sunset to sunrise, as I travel around the country in my quest for creative images of railroading.

Three Generations of Railroad Photography David Lange: The Search for a New Perspective - (from Eugene, OR)

Three Generations of Railroad Photography David Lange: The Search for a New Perspective The third offering in a trilogy of presentations showcasing the evolution of railroad photography spanning 68 years and three generations. Growing up around railroads is an understatement for David Lange. His exposure to trains began with the Southern Pacific Coastline before he was even a month old. The heavy influence of not one, but two accomplished railroad photographers in the immediate family made it inevitable that he would develop an interest for railroads as well. We'll follow David through his early years watching the transition from first generation diesels to dash two technology on the Coastline, Cajon Pass, and the Tehachapi mountains. We'll also see some of his first experiences with a camera and the beginning of his quest to find his own signature style of imagery. He'll then take us on a condensed tour through his archives showing the evolution of his photography skills and his never ending search for a new perspective.

Three Generations of Railroad Photography Charles Lange: East Coast Railfan Goes West Coastal - (from Eugene, OR)

Three Generations of Railroad Photography Charles Lange: East Coast Railfan Goes West Coastal The second in a trilogy of presentations showcasing the evolution of railroad photography spanning 68 years and three generations. This second series starts with a back story along with images showing the heavy influence of trains and photography Charles had during his childhood. Through the camera lens of his father, we'll follow Charles as a young boy posed on several New Haven steam engines during their last years of service during the mid forties. We then skip ahead to his transplant to Southern California to attend college and his first exposure to what will instantly be his favorite railroad, Southern Pacific. Charles will take us on a journey through his early years as an aspiring photographer to some of his favorite haunts such as the Tehachapis, Cajon Pass, and the SP Coastline. We'll also follow Charles on his move to Oregon where he'll share with us some of his favorite photos of the SP Oregon Division lines along with his reconnection to steam engines. With an emphasis on SP, ATSF, and UP, this presentation is barely a sampling of the best images chosen from the 80,000 plus slides that Charles has taken over the past 47 years.
