11th Annual Autumn Leaf Slide Show - LINE UP OF PRESENTERS. Note that show begins at 4:00pm on Saturday, October 26th at the Historic Fox Theater in downtown Centralia, WA

Featured Presenter - Randy Nelson - Nomo's Moldy Oldies Part 2 and SP Tribute - (From Ft. Worth, TX)

Our final featured presenter shows for this year will be from Randy Nelson, a repeat presenter and attendee at Autumn Leaf, he will have two shows for us this year. One is referred to as Nomo's Moldy Oldies part 2 which he will take us to look at some Alco's and some stuff north of the border, and a tribute look back at the great SP. We look forward to another entertaining presentation from Randy!

Featured Presenter - Charles Lange - Popsicles Anyone? - A SP Unique Tribute (from Eugene, OR)

Another Featured presenter this year will be Charles Lange from Eugene, OR who will be presenting a show on the unique Sulzer powered GE's used by the SP. Affectionately known as "Popsicles", these ran on the western routes of the SP and offer a unique look at this colorful lashup on the Friendly.

Show is Only One Week Away!!!

Well we are just over one week for the 11th Annual Autumn Leaf Railroad Slideshow - Saturday, October 26th, 2013. The show will begin at 4:00pm with the doors open to the theater at 3:30. The show will be held at the historic Fox Theater in downtown Centralia, WA at 119 South Tower Ave. The show will run from 4:00 to about 10:30pm with a planned dinner break at 7:00pm. A suggested admission of $8 will be a donation to help cover the costs for the theater rental for the evening. Soft drinks, beer, wine and snacks will be available for purchase the night of the event. Come on out and enjoy a night on the town watching some great railroad photography presentations. We will be also having during the intermissions a "Your Best 3" photos from the last year - they can be submitted to me via email at Robert.scott@westthurstonfire.org . They will be put together into a rolling slide show. We are right now at 90 RSVP's with a few more still coming in.

Steve Carter - Abstract Railroading Reflections - (from Gig Harbor, WA)

Gig Harbor, WA's Steve Carter comes back to us as a repeat presenter at Autumn Leaf - this year he will surprise us with a new show called "Abstract Railroad Reflections". The show is an "out of the box" view of railroading, featuring a variety of locales from the Pacific Northwest and Arizona. Look forward to a new perspective of railroading!!

Rob and Austin Jacox - The GORGEous Columbia River GORGE - (from Bend, OR)

Another presenter will be the team of Rob Jacox and Austin Jacox of Bend, OR with a show called "The GORGEous Columbia River GORGE". Their show will focus on "traditional railfan photography" from the Columbia River Gorge from 2005 to 2013. Rob and Austin Jacox are a father-son photographer duo that live in Bend, OR. While living along the scenic BNSF Oregon Trunk Subdivision, the heavy traffic volume, amazing scenery, and ample trackside camping has made the Columbia River Gorge their favorite railfanning area. We are excited to have them as a part of this years show as a first time presenter!

David J. Cantlin - Tacoma Rail Open House 2011 (from Tacoma, WA)

Tacoma's David J. Cantlin will be present a show on the highlights of the 2011 Tacoma Rail Open house. David has been closely involved with the open house over the years and has a special insight to the activities. David has shown at Autumn Leaf a few times over the years, and we are happy to have him again this year.

Josef Brugger - UP Northwest - UP front 1976-1996 (from Portland, OR)

Announcing another great look back at the past with Portland, Oregon's Josef Brugger. Josef will be providing a look back at the motive power of the UP Northwest: UP front 1976-96 This quick show will look at the changes over two decades of Union Pacific motive power in Idaho and Oregon.

Robert W. Scott - St. Maries River Railroad - End of the Line to Clarkia (from Rochester, WA)

For Autumn Leaf this year, I will be presenting a show titled "St. Maries River Railroad - End of the Line to Clarkia" which will look at the final weeks in 2009 of log-train operations on this Idaho wood-hauler. Loaded with ex-MILW engines, cars, facilities and equipment, the log hauling part of the unique operation is now only a memory.

Richard Zoller Jr - The Last Seven Years (from Rochester, WA)

After moving west 7 years ago from the mid-west, Richard Zoller Jr of Rochester, WA has been shooting photos of the railroads of the west. Although a multi-year attendee at Autumn Leaf, this year will be his first time presenting in a show called "The Last Seven Years". Watch for scenes from all over the Pacific Northwest, California and into Idaho, Montana and even Wyoming. Look forward to a great presentation from Richard!

Aaron Michael Heine - Flashback on the Pacific Northwest (from Bend, OR)

Another fantastic presentation this year will be from Aaron Michael Heine from Bend, Oregon. He will be sharing a show based upon photos from his late father Ken Heine. The show is titled "Flashback on the Pacific Northwest". Go back with Ken Heine's photos of the 1970's, 80's and even the 90's with many railroads that ruled the rails of the PNW. Ken Heine was born, raised and lived in North Portland his entire life and did most of his photography in the Portland metro area. We look forward to this first time Autumn Leaf presenter on a historic look back at all the PacNW railroads.

Featured Presenter - Ryan Clark - The San Joaquin Valley Lines (from Linden, CA)

This year we will also be hosting a new photographer to Autumn Leaf - This year, Ryan Clark, will be another featured presenter with a show titled "The San Joaquin Valley Lines". Ryan, from Linden, CA will take you behind the eye what me and my camera capture. Growing up in the Central Valley of California is any railfans dream. Tracks here and there. Come explore the shortlines and class ones at high speeds on the San Joaquin Valley Lines.

Featured Presenter - Blair Kooistra - The Milwaukee Road (from Ft. Worth,TX)

Featured Presenter - Blair Kooistra The Milwaukee Road in Tacoma. Blair Kooistra was a teenager when he first walked onto Milwaukee Road property in Tacoma, but being a kid with a camera among usually suspicious railroaders gave him amazing photographic access to the employees of "America's Resourceful Railroad" in its final few years of operation on the west coast. This presentation takes you inside the shops at Tideflats and up and down Tacoma Hill, home of F-unit slug sets on one of the nation's steepest railroad grades.

Joel Hawthorn - Roll On Columbia - The River Runners (from Shelton, WA)

Joel Hawthorn is a repeat-presenter at Autumn Leaf and this year he has put together a show called "Roll on Columbia - The River Runners", looking at the railroads of the Columbia River Gorge. Joel is from Shelton, WA and has been a part of Autumn Leaf for the past few years. Thank you Joel for being a part of the show again this year!

11th Annual Autumn Leaf Railroad Slide Show Presenters Announced - David Lange - Country Road (from Eugene, OR)

ANNOUNCING THE LINE-UP FOR THE 11th ANNUAL AUTUMN LEAF RAILROAD SLIDE SHOW. I am happy to announce that we have back this year a great presentation from David Lange from Eugene, Oregon. Country Road by David Lange The southern end of UPs Brooklyn subdivision between Albany and Eugene ,Oregon runs through wide open farmland dotted with small, quiet mennonite communities. We'll ride along with Dave as he takes us on a condensed tour of his favorite haunts in the Willamette Valley. Buckle up, because the Country Road can get intense! We are looking forward to another fantastic show from David!
